Hola! I’m going to cut to the chase – it’s National Margarita Day and I am a Mexican on a mission.

My mission: Drink skinny margaritas, eat chips & guac and try not to do anything too embarrassing.

Realistically I think 2 out of 3 of those will happen.

So even though I feel like National Margarita Day is the perfect time to share the tale of the first time I ever had alcohol (because it involves Jose Cuervo, a plastic jack-o-lantern, Sponge Bob Square Pants sheets and my best friend) – I’m NOT going to waste your time (today at least).

Nope. Today you should make a margarita (or two) and celebrate!

This is the easiest skinny margarita recipe ever in the history of Earth (well, I can’t confirm this since the dinosaurs didn’t blog, but I can’t imagine a T-Rex shaking up a margi anyway so trust me).

A good margarita only requires 5 ingredients.

A great margarita has enough of 1 of those ingredients so you feel no pain.

A perfect margarita is combination of salty and sweet and happiness all rolled into one.

  • 2 oz. tequila silver
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. orange juice
  • salt
  • ice
  1. Salt rim of glass by swiping lime wedge around it and dipping into plate of salt.
  2. Mix tequila, lime and orange juice – shake with ice.
  3. Pour into prepped glass & garnish with a lime or orange wedge.
  4. Optional: Add a splash of seltzer if you want a bigger drink without adding extra alcohol or sugar.
